As Memorial Day arrives and the end of the school year grows closer, it is wise to remember that Memorial Day is not just a three-day weekend or a precursor to Summer fun. It is a day to be Grateful and Appreciative of those who have made the Ultimate sacrifice while defending our Country. These Men and Women who have served in our military and the families who survive them deserve our thanks and gratitude. For if not they who have protected us, who? Every time I have an opportunity to thank a service man or woman I do my best to go out of my way to let them know they are appreciated!
My father served in the Navy, my Uncles in the Air Force and the Army and my Brother in Law is currently serving in the Navy. I have learned through the years that their commitment to serve comes not from a desire for riches but a deeper sense of duty and honor. I am grateful everyday that because of those who have served, I have been allowed many opportunities to pursue my dreams. Their sacrifice has not been lost on me and I am hoping that as Memorial Day arrives this year, we can all find a way to offer our thanks or find a simple act of kindness to perform for one of our service men or women that may come in contact with. Orthodontics is a wonderful Profession and I truly love what I do but I know that I have been provided opportunities through the actions of others. Stepping up to a calling out of a sense of duty and giving your life for the protection of this great country is something that must always be respected and revered. God bless our Fallen Soldiers, our Veterans, Our active military and God bless the United States of America!
